Fire Safety Guidelines
The safety of our students and staff is our highest priority at Evans Matriculation Higher Secondary School. We have established clear fire safety procedures to ensure preparedness and quick response in case of emergencies.
In Case of Fire
- Raise an alarm loudly: “Fire! Fire! Fire!” – specifying the location until help arrives.
- Call the Fire Brigade (101) immediately.
- Use fire extinguishers and available resources to contain the fire if it is safe to do so.
- Remove flammable materials (e.g., gas cylinders, paper, wooden furniture) from the area.
- Switch off electrical appliances such as fans, computers, and air conditioners.
Evacuation Procedure
- Close windows and doors if possible before leaving the room.
- Do not panic, do not run – move quickly and calmly.
- If there is heavy smoke, crawl on the floor to avoid inhalation.
- Never go to the roof; instead, assemble in an open, safe space at a designated distance.
- Wait quietly for instructions from teachers or safety personnel.
By practicing these steps, we ensure that all students are well-prepared to handle emergencies with calmness and discipline.
